The famous boxer dispelled the main myth about Usyk's weakness
New Zealand super heavyweight Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs) disagreed with the opinion that Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 11 KOs) is not good at taking body shots. The interim champion according to the World Boxing Organization (WBO) noted that the Ukrainian showed resilience in his fight against Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).
Parker said this in an interview with the Seconds Out YouTube channel. The 32-year-old boxer noted that experts and fans, speaking about Usyk's weakness in the area of body punches, forget about the Ukrainian's invincibility.
"Are body blows Usyk's weakness? I don't think so. People look at it, analyze it, and say that it's his weakness, but he's unbreakable. I don't see this as Usyk's real weakness. In my opinion, Usyk can take punches to the body," Parker said. Earlier, he told what would happen in the rematch between Usyk and Fury.
Saudi Arabia has already officially announced the date of the boxers' rematch. In turn, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) has decided to deprive the Ukrainian of his belt.
There was also an unexpected twist to the Usyk-Fury rematch. It happened after Croatian Filip Hrgovic (17-1, 14 KOs) lost to British Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs).
