"Supernatural" stars to reunite in another series: what's known
"Supernatural" star Jensen Ackles, who is currently filming the latest season of the satirical superhero show "The Boys," has announced his reunion with actors Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins. They will join their colleague on the set of his current project.
Ackles posted the teaser video on his social media. "Hey, Jared, we have work to do. Again," he says in the video. Then Padalecki appears in the frame and responds: "Okay. I'll tell Micha. Micha, we have a job." Collins is the third to appear. "Good. But what are we doing?" he finally asks. And the logo of "The Boys" appears.
According to Variety, it is not yet known what roles Padalecki and Collins will play. Ackles plays a soldier in "The Boys." It is known that such Supernatural stars as Jim Beaver (playing Robert Singer), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (playing Joe Kessler) and Rob Benedict (playing Splinter) have already appeared in the show.
"The Boys" creator Eric Kripke has long expressed a desire to bring Padalecki to his project, telling Variety last year, "I feel like I need to finish my Supernatural Pokémon game, and I have one big – very big – Pokémon left to catch."
Padalecki starred alongside Ackles in the CW sci-fi drama for all 15 seasons. Collins has been on "Supernatural" for 12 seasons and has played nine different characters.
Currently, the show is in production for its fifth and final season. The series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Las Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Anthony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominic McElligott, Jesse T. Usher, Nathan Mitchell, Chace Crawford, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and Giancarlo Esposito.
The Gen V college spin-off of Guys debuted in 2023 and was renewed for a second season. There was also an animated spin-off for adults called The Boys Presents: Diabolical, and another series, Vought Rising, starring Padalecki, is planned for the future.
