Two-time Olympic hockey champion Vyacheslav Fetisov has spoken out about the so-called neutral Russian athletes at the 2024 Olympics. The State Duma deputy and Vladimir Putin's regime ally called the athletes "scouts behind enemy lines."
Fetisov said this in a comment to the propaganda news agency TASS. The two-time Stanley Cup winner complained that the Russians in Paris will face provocations from rivals and fans, and they will "suffer these humiliations."
"The situation there will be such that they will be constantly provoked, and I think everyone will decide whether to go to the Olympics or not. Going into reconnaissance, behind enemy lines, constantly looking back, enduring these humiliations. This is how the people will react, history can happen in different ways. Again, what other additional "mulkas" will be offered to us by the organizers. Everyone has to make a decision for themselves and live with it," Fetisov said.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, Irina Viner, called neutral Russian athletes a "team of bums." And Seoul-88 champion Mikhail Mamiashvili called the IOC "a bunch of cultists, scoundrels, fraudsters."
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the head of the Russian Gymnastics Federation (RGF) Vasily Titov accused Ukrainians of the fact that many athletes from Russia failed to obtain the so-called status to participate in the Olympic Games.
