The coach of the Ukrainian national football team, Serhiy Rebrov, wished Oleksandr Shovkovskyi success. The legendary goalkeeper was appointed acting head coach of Dynamo on November 4.

According to Rebrov, he realizes how responsible the new position will be for him.

"Any coach at Dynamo is a very important step. I wish Oleksandr success and to bring Dynamo back to the level the club was at. Will Shovkovskyi be able to gain a foothold? It depends on him. I started the same way. I think he has to start, and then we'll see. It all depends on him," Serhiy said in an interview with the Vzbirna YouTube channel.

Shovkovskyi had already replaced Lucescu from April to June 2023 when he underwent surgery. Back then, Dynamo won 6 matches in 8 games, drawing once (1-1 with Metalist-1925) and losing once to Chornomorets, conceding a goal in the last seconds.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Mircea Lucescu submitted his resignation on November 3 after the defeat by Shakhtar Donetsk. Since August 2020, the White and Blues have played 118 matches (65 wins, 19 draws and 34 defeats) under the Romanian specialist's leadership.

Later, sports journalist and blogger Ihor Tsyhanyk said that Dynamo U-19 head coach Ihor Kostiuk could take over the Kyiv first team after Shovkovskyi.
