Oleksandr Shovkovskyi is a famous Ukrainian soccer player, goalkeeper.

Brief biography

Oleksandr Shovkovsky was born in Kiev, January 2, 1975.

He started his career as an "adult" footballer in FC Dynamo (Kyiv) in 1993. In the first year he was appointed the main goalkeeper of the team.

Since November 1994, he also played for the Ukraine national soccer team until 2012.

Shovkovskiy received his coaching license in 2016 and already in 2018 he took the position of the first assistant coach of the Ukrainian national team.

Shovkovskiy's last match as a player - the game of Dynamo Kyiv against FC Zorya (Lugansk) took place in 2016. At the same time, due to injury, Shovkovskiy never took to the pitch, watching the game from the stands.

Oleksandr Shovkovskiy has been named Ukraine's best goalkeeper nine times by the Ukrainian Football magazine. In 2005, the sports newspaper Komanda named Shovkovskiy the footballer of the year in Ukraine. In addition, Shovkovskiy is the record holder of the Ukrainian championship for the number of matches played in the top division.

Oleksandr Shovkovskiy has a son Vlad from his first wife, Vlasta.

Shovkovskiy's second wife is a famous fashion designer Olga Alenova. She gave birth to the athlete's daughter Alexandra.

The family lived together for ten years, but eventually Shovkovskiy and Alenova divorced.
