"A huge step forward": Shovkovsky assesses Dynamo's exit from the Champions League
Dynamo Kyiv head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi praised his team's performance in the Champions League qualifiers. Despite being knocked out of the playoffs by Salzburg of Austria, the 50-year-old noted that the team showed significant progress compared to last season.
Shovkovsky said this at a press conference after the game in Salzburg, according to Dynamo's official website. The Kyiv coach noted that the players should analyze their performances and strive to constantly improve their level to achieve even better results.
"I've always told my mentees that the only person you have to look back on is yourself in the past. The only person you have to be better than is you in the present. I think we have definitely made a big step forward, and I also think we are on the right track. We have to keep going. After last year's failure on the international stage, I think we have made a huge step forward, and then everything is just beginning - I am sure of it," Shovkovsky said.
We would like to remind you that Dynamo lost to Salzburg by the sum of two matches - 0: 2 and 1: 1. Currently, Kyiv will play in the main draw of the Europa League.
