The absolute world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) will defend his title in a rematch with Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) later this year. The second fight between the Ukrainian and British boxers will take place on December 21 in Riyadh, Arabia.

This was reported by Turki Al Al-Sheikh on his page on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter. According to him, it is this date that the rivals are currently focusing on, and not October 12, as originally planned and stipulated in the contract for the first fight.

In the first fight on May 18, Usyk won by split decision - 115:112, 113:114, 114:113. At the same time, in the ninth round, the Ukrainian almost knocked out Fury, who was saved by the referee and the gong. Because of this, American Deontay Wilder (43-3-1, 42 KOs) expressed confidence that Oleksandr was deprived of an early victory.

It is not yet known whether all the belts will be on the line in the rematch between the Ukrainian and the Briton. It was planned that Usyk would be stripped of his title by the International Boxing Federation (IBF), but three reasons were given why it is beneficial for promoters and organizations to keep all the belts for the Ukrainian. At the same time, our boxer's team will appeal to the IBF to make an exception for mandatory defense.
