Netflix to release a documentary series about the Cold War soon: the trailer featuring Zelenskyy published on YouTube
The American streaming service Netflix has announced a nine-episode documentary series called Turning Point: The Bomb and the Cold War, which will tell the story of the Cold War, the creation of the nuclear bomb and the invasion of Ukraine.
The trailer, which was released on February 22, showed footage of the occupation, bombing, and an interview with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Each episode looks at the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine as an example of how the history being explored is directly related to current events," the website announced.
"Almost every part of the war in Ukraine is an echo of the Cold War," director Brian Knappenberger said.
Tipping Point: The Bomb and the Cold War features interviews with 7 current or former world leaders, including the President of Ukraine, as well as prominent political figures such as NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, former CIA Director Robert Gates, and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
It is worth noting that the YouTube cover of the trailer features an interview with the Ukrainian leader. A short video showed a fragment of the conversation with him.
"They see Ukraine as a part of the empire, their property, which they want to take away," the subtitles read.
"Featuring interviews with prominent politicians, journalists, and survivors, this series explores decades of conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union, framed by current events that show the Cold War continues and the world remains on the brink of nuclear war," the description reads.
The premiere is expected on the Netflix platform on March 12.
