Ukrainian MP Artem Dmytruk, who illegally crossed the Ukrainian border, has been officially put on the international wanted list. He is suspected of assaulting a soldier and a law enforcement officer.

A motion to take the current MP into custody has also been sent to the court. This was reported on August 29 by the Office of the Prosecutor General and the State Bureau of Investigation, which is conducting a pre-trial investigation.

It is noted that during his stay in Odesa, the suspect and his accomplices attacked a law enforcement officer who was performing his official duties at the time. The MP deliberately inflicted bodily harm on the law enforcement officer and tried to steal his weapon.

In another case, which occurred in Kyiv, Dmytruk had a dispute with a citizen, during which he struck him several times, including in the head. According to the expert's opinion, the man sustained moderate bodily harm as a result of the MP's unlawful actions. The victim was a defender of Ukraine, an assault rifleman who fought in the hottest spots of the frontline.

Thus, the MP of the IX convocation is currently suspected of:

– intentional infliction of light bodily harm to a law enforcement officer by a group of persons in connection with the performance of his official duties (Part 1 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);

– theft of firearms by a group of persons (Article 15(2), Article 28(1), Article 262(1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);

– intentional infliction of bodily harm of moderate severity (Article 122(1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);

– a gross violation of public order on the grounds of manifest disrespect for society, accompanied by particular audacity (Article 296(1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Procedural control is carried out by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

What is known about Dmytruk's escape

On August 25, several Ukrainian media outlets reported that the scandalous MP Artem Dmytruk had left Ukraine: he was allegedly seen in Moldova. The State Bureau of Investigation confirmed that the current MP had illegally crossed the border in Odesa Oblast and entered the neighboring country, and criminal proceedings were opened over the incident.

Later, it was reported that Dmytruk crossed the border on foot and entered Moldova. Local law enforcement officers did not detain him at the request of Ukraine, as they had no reason to do so.

The head of the UCP, Andrii Kostin, said the day before that the MP had been helped to leave Ukraine. The assistants may very likely include officials from various agencies. The Prosecutor General said that if Dmytruk does not appear voluntarily for interrogation in Ukraine on August 29-30, he will be put on the wanted list and extradition will be requested.

We would like to add that MP Artem Dmytruk supported the narratives of pro-Russian politicians and promoted such theses himself. He spoke negatively about the MPs who supported the adoption of the bill "on the ban of the UOC-MP," calling them "Nazis who support the genocide of the Ukrainian people." The MP himself has long been a parishioner of the UOC-MP, and in July 2024 he even became a subdeacon. For this "joyful event," Dmytruk thanked Metropolitan Onufriy himself.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, in October 2023, non-factional MP Artem Dmytruk and his colleague from the SN party started a swear fight in the Rada over the UOC-MP. Both threatened "God's punishment" to parliamentarians who voted in favor of a bill banning religious organizations affiliated with Russia and its propaganda narratives.
