Oleksandr ChekanovNews

The unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) confirmed media reports that he plans to fight in the Ukrainian capital. Our compatriot believes that this plan will be realized and he will be able to fight in front of his home crowd.

Usyk made the announcement at the London Eye event last week, and a video of it was published on the Ready to Fight YouTube channel. According to Oleksandr, a fight in Kyiv at the NSC Olimpiyskiy stadium, which hosted the finals of the 2012 European Football Championship and the 2018 Champions League, is his real dream.

"I want to organize a fight at the Olympic Stadium in Kyiv. This is my dream. Maybe it will become a reality in the near future," Usyk said.

Earlier it became known that our compatriot could be deprived of the World Boxing Council (WBC) belt. In addition, promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk named the dates when the boxer will hold his next fight.

Usyk himself told when he intends to end his career. Oleksandr also said that he is preparing to hold the most unusual fight of his career.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, British promoter Frank Warren has named Oleksandr Usyk's opponent for his next fight.
