Ukrainian track and field athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh has reached the finals of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in the high jump competition in fantastic style. Our compatriot won the qualification, confirming her title as one of the tournament favorites.

Our compatriot needed only two jumps to qualify for the medal stage of the competition. Yaroslava missed two starting heights and then cleared 1 meter 92 centimeters on her first attempt.

After that, many athletes had serious problems with this height, which left only 14 athletes in the sector. The judges decided to move the bar to 1.95m. Jaroslawa, who opened this stage of the tournament, again easily cleared the bar and guaranteed herself the final of the Olympic Games.

Mahuchikh was one of only two competitors to clear both jumps on the first attempt. The victory was shared with the Ukrainian by Australian Nicola Olislagers. Another Ukrainian, Iryna Herashchenko, cleared the qualifying height on her second attempt.

Thus, two of our compatriots will compete for Olympic medals at once. The final of the competition will take place on Sunday, August 4, at 20:55 Kyiv time.
