The titled track and field athlete could not control her emotions

Maria Lasitskene, a three-time world high jump champion, said she is not interested in the 2024 Olympics. The main rival of the Ukrainian jumper Yaroslava Maguchikh admitted that the Games in Paris "have no podium in her life."

The 31-year-old Russian is not participating in the Olympics because the World Association of Athletics Federations (World Athletics) has banned Russian athletes from all international tournaments due to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

"I don't follow, I'm not interested, I don't watch. I only know that my husband Vladas comments on the competitions. This is the only thing that connects me with this Olympics now. I don't want to know anything else about it. I didn't watch the opening ceremony, I don't know anything about it." I just read, walk, live my life," RIA Novosti quoted Lasitskene as saying.

Earlier, the high jumper complained that due to sanctions against Russia, she was forced to wear equipment with holes in it. In addition, Lasitskene broke her silence about the war in Ukraine only in early August. She called it her mistake.

In response, Maguchikh said she had stopped communicating with representatives of the aggressor country and said she no longer considered Lasitskene her idol.
