"It's my fault": Ngannou upset by postponement of Usyk-Fury fight

Cameroonian Francis Ngannou (0-1, 0 KOs) called himself the main reason why the fight between Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion will not take place on December 23. The mixed martial arts fighter noted that his performance in the fight against Tsygansky on October 28 put an end to the promoters' plans to hold a show with the Ukrainian and the British this year.

Ngannou said this in an interview with TMZ Sports, not without a bit of irony. The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion, who managed to knock out Tyson in his first boxing fight, emphasized that he hopes to rematch with the Briton in the future, but is now upset about the postponement of the Usyk-Fury fight.

"I'm ready to wait until Usyk and Fury fight. I know that they are going to fight, because they already had a contract signed. That's why they're going to fight sometime in February, not December 23. It's my fault. I shouldn't have hit Tyson so hard. So he would have fought Usyk on December 23, and next year we could have organized a rematch with him," Ngannou said.

As a reminder, Fury defeated the Cameroonian by split decision. The fight was the seventh time in his professional career that the British fighter was knocked down. Usyk admitted that he was very worried about Tyson during the fight.

It was originally planned that immediately after the end of the Fury vs. Ngannou fight, the date of the British champion's fight with Usyk would be announced. However, due to the autopsy and other injuries to the winner, this was not done. The photos show how Tyson looked like after 33 missed punches in the fight.

The media outlet announced a new date for the fight and claimed that the British boxer faces a $240 million lawsuit if he refuses to fight Usyk on December 23. A video of Oleksandr's reaction to Tyson's knockdown in the third round of the fight with Francis was also posted online.
