"It looks very strange". Harlan made a confession about what she did at the 2024 Olympics
Olga Harlan, a two-time Olympic fencing champion, has confessed why she shouts during her fights. Our athlete uses it to get herself going, to influence her opponent and to release her emotions.
"You throw out your feelings, you influence the judge, because you somehow show that you are right, you want to, and so on. Then you influence your opponent. When you shout in her face, it's not very nice," Harlan said in an interview with TSN.
When asked by Marichka Padalka whether such behavior was allowed by the rules, Harlan replied that it was not prohibited, but not welcomed.
"They won't do anything to you, but it's very unpleasant, it's disrespectful. But if you shout, you're making yourself angry. It looks very strange, I know," Harlan said.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Padalko became emotional during the conversation with Olga. The 48-year-old woman had tears in her eyes when she read out a fragment of correspondence with the athlete's Italian boyfriend Luigi Samele, where he said he had never doubted his beloved's abilities.
After winning gold in the final of the 2024 Olympic Games in team sabre fencing, Olga Harlan won her sixth medal at the Olympics. This made her the most decorated Ukrainian athlete in the history of our country's performances at the Olympics.
We also calculated the prize money the fencer will receive for her performance in Paris 2024.
