ISW: Russia is testing an electronic voting system that will make Putin the winner of the 2024 presidential election

The Russian government is testing an electronic voting system ahead of next year's presidential election. It is likely to further support efforts to manipulate the results in favor of dictator Vladimir Putin.

This is stated in a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). It should be noted that according to the current electoral legislation of the aggressor country, the new president is to be elected by Russians on March 17, 2024.

The day before, on November 4, the Russian opposition newspaper Medusa reported on the government's intentions to test the new voting system.

To this end, the Government Services Portal sent letters to Russians inviting them to evaluate the electronic system on November 15-17. The invitations also stated that all adult citizens of the Russian Federation were eligible to participate in the testing.

The Russian government officially announced such tests on October 31. It explained this by the intention to "ensure the participation of as many subjects of the Russian Federation as possible" in this format of voting in the presidential election.

According to ISW analysts, these preparations for public elections in Russia are noteworthy because Putin has not even announced his official election campaign. It is also ridiculous because even state-owned Russian media have not begun to position the current dictator as the only viable candidate yet.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Russian oppositionist Olga Kurnosova believes that the Kremlin is waiting for "Putin to die." According to her, the longtime head of the Russian Federation may not live long enough to see the presidential election.
