Iryna Bilyk sang her song "We will be together" in Ukrainian: it was dedicated to Dikusar, who is currently serving on the frontlines. Video
The famous Ukrainian singer and composer Iryna Bilyk has Ukrainianized her mega-hit "We will be together," originally released in 2008. Back then, the song was a dedication to the renowned choreographer Dmytro Dikusar, with whom the artist had a passionate romance and even got married in Rio de Janeiro (though their marriage was not valid in Ukraine). It is symbolic that the dancer is now a soldier in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, defending his homeland on the front lines, and Bilyk has translated the song dedicated to him into her native language.
The star performed an updated version of the old hit at one of her recent concerts. Footage from the performance was posted online (to see photos and videos, scroll to the bottom of the page).
The original version of the hit features these lyrics: "The moon's disk launches the night into the sky / And the flutter of eyelashes brushes the starry sky / A teardrop can't warm a dream / I catch your desires in the air / We'll be together, I know / There's no one like me / There's no one like you / We'll be together, I know!"
By the way, the music video for this song was created using actual footage from the singer and choreographer's archive, which they filmed during their vacation together.
Now, Bilyk performs the song in her native language: "The night is blooming, stars in the sky / And the footsteps outside my window fade away / Belief in goodness will not wane / I catch your desires / every moment / We'll be together, I know / There are no others like me / There are no others like you / We'll be together, I know!"
The Ukrainian-language version of the old hit has already gathered many fans. In the comments, internet users praise how the song sounds so melodious. They note that it has become more tender and sincere.
It's worth noting that Iryna Bilyk and Dmytro Dikusar began dating in 2007. Their romance sparked intense discussions in the press and among her fans, as the singer was 16 years older than her chosen one. While in a relationship with the dancer, Bilyk delighted listeners with hit songs such as "The World Doesn't Know," "We Will Be Together," and "We're Not There." The artist sang the latter in a duet with Dmytro. Even after the full-scale invasion, the singer admitted that she was very proud of her ex, who joined the ranks of the Armed Forces and went to the front.
Earlier, Dmytro Dikusar predicted when the war in Ukraine might end. In his opinion, this will not happen in the near future.
