Hvozdyk told about Usyk's plans
The unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) will now become a desired rival for many boxers in different divisions. After four victories over Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs), our compatriot has become a major star generating big fees.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with Sport.ua by former world light heavyweight champion Oleksandr Hvozdyk (20-2, 16 KOs). The Kharkiv resident emphasized that now Usyk can make any decisions about his career and further cement his name in boxing history.
"Now everyone wants to fight him because he generates money. If Sasha had offered me, I would have agreed to fight him myself. But he has to do what he wants first and foremost. It seems to me that he has long since fulfilled some of his financial needs. So, if he goes down and becomes a 3-time absolute champion or wins a title in the bridgerweight, that's cool. If he adds another regalia, that's great. He will cement his name in the history of boxing even deeper," Hvozdyk said.
