'I hope Fury beats Usik': Joshua's promoter emphatic about 2024 main event fight

Oleksandr ChekanovNews

British promoter Eddie Hearn expressed hope that Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) will defeat Oleksandr Usik (21-0, 14 KOs) in a fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion. This will increase the chances of organizing a fight between the Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is called, and Anthony Joshua (27-3, 24 KOs).

Hearn said this in an interview with TNT Sports following the results of the grand boxing night in Saudi Arabia on December 23, sportbible.com reports. Commenting on the victory of Joshua, whose case he manages, the promoter emphasized that the defeat of Deontay Wilder (43-3-1, 42 KOs) by Joseph Parker (34-3, 23 KOs) put an end to the confrontation between the American and Anthony.

"This is boxing. It happens in this business. Joshua wants to become a three-time world champion. I want to see him fight Tyson Fury. If Tyson Fury can beat Oleksandr Usik, I'd like to see that fight. I like this fight. I hope that Tyson will beat Usik. Joshua is the man you'll need to watch in 2024," Hearn said.

As a reminder, Usik and Fury's fight will take place on February 17. For the first time in history, four championship belts will be at stake. Joshua gave his unequivocal prediction for this fight. And in Russia, they told us how the Ukrainian's move to the super-heavyweight division affected the division.

The legendary Evander Holyfield explained why Usik will win the fight against Fury. In turn, the Ukrainian did not disclose his tactical plan for the fight, but Oleksandr's camp told about the progress of his preparations.

In turn, the World Boxing Council (WBC) has announced the contenders for the fight against the winner of the Fury-Usyk confrontation. In addition, the Ukrainian boxer puzzled British fans with his training. And the sex symbol of world boxing, Australian Abani Bridges, made a categorical prediction for the confrontation between the Ukrainian and the British.
