"I can't drink as much beer as I want." Usyk sparks laughter with confession about his addiction

Usyk spoke at the KIEF

Oleksandr Usyk, the unified heavyweight champion of the world, admitted that he constantly limits himself in many things while training his perseverance. The boxer noted that he loves beer, but has to restrain himself from drinking it because of his goals in life and career.

He said this during a speech at the Kyiv International Economic Forum KIEF-2023, which took place in the capital on October 12. Oleksandr's confession and another speaker's remark that he could not limit himself to drinking beer caused laughter in the audience.

"I sometimes limit myself because I know that life can stress me out. Persistence is what makes us limit ourselves to what we would like to do. For example: I really like beer. But I can't drink as much beer as I want. Or if I need to go up to the fifth floor, I'll think - I'll use the elevator or take the stairs. Sometimes I walk. I say to myself, "Sasha, push yourself." It all depends on you. We need to take care of ourselves," Usyk said.

Earlier, the boxer spoke about why he decided to switch to the Ukrainian language after Russia's full-scale invasion of our country on February 24 last year. Also during KIEF 2023, Oleksandr spoke frankly about his fight against Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) reacted to the organization of the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury by naming a contender for the winner's title. And former world champion Andy Ruiz named the main problem of the Ukrainian's British rival.
