"He will never beat": boxing legend gives up on Fury in rematch with Usyk

McGuigan assessed the rematch between Usyk and Fury

Barry McGuigan, a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame, expressed confidence that Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) will defeat Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) in the rematch. The former Irish world champion added that the Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is called, will not be able to effectively resist our compatriot.

McGuigan said this in an interview with Seconds Out. He noted that Fury will never be able to break Usyk's resistance, as the Ukrainian former absolute heavyweight champion has exceptional skills that will probably knock out his opponent in the second fight.

"Will Fury beat Usyk? Never, as far as I can imagine. I don't mean anything bad, I'm just saying that Usyk is a breed of his own. Fury was lucky that he had the fight on May 18. He could have been stopped. I don't think he'll do better in the rematch... I can't say who will win the fight, I'm just guessing. Judging by Fury's performance in the first fight, I don't think he will be more effective against Usyk. I think this time Usyk will probably knock him out," McGuigan said.

Fury and Usyk will rematch on December 21. We already know the fantastic prize money for the second fight. A few weeks ago, our compatriot gave up the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt and lost the title of absolute world champion.

Later it became known that the IBF left Usyk no choice. This situation angered the head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Dana White. The Ukrainian himself commented on his decision for the first time.

He also responded to accusations of cheating during the fight with Fury on May 18. In addition, Alexander commented on the injury he received in the fight.

The Ukrainian announced his radical plan to continue his career after the rematch with Tyson. Usyk named the most difficult moment of the fight with the Briton. Our boxer also spoke frankly about his opponent.
