Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) intends to activate the rematch clause in his contract with Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs). The Gypsy King, as the Briton is called, wants to beat the Ukrainian and take away his belts in a fight on May 18.
This was reported by iFL TV on its page on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter. The second fight between the Ukrainian and the Briton is scheduled for mid-autumn, with Saturday, October 12 as the tentative date.
At the same time, the title of absolute world champion will not be at stake, as Usyk will be stri pped of his International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt by June 1. This decision angered the British Tony Bellew. Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (20-2, 19 KOs) will fight for the title.
On May 18, Usyk defeated Fury by split decision - 115:112, 113:114, 114:113. Tyson also expressed his desire to visit Ukraine.
