Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Francis Ngannou shocked the world by giving a competitive fight to Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs). The Cameroonian's third round was particularly impressive, when he sent his opponent to the ring floor with a left hand.
This was the seventh knockdown in Fury's professional career, and he is scheduled to fight Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) soon. For the first time, he failed to resist the onslaught of an opponent back in 2011 in a confrontation with Canadian Neven Paikich. At the end of the fifth minute of the fight, the Briton was hit with a direct right hand.
In just a year and a half, Tyson suffered his second knockdown, thanks to the American Steve Cunningham. The second round turned out to be dangerous for the Gypsy King again: the Briton did not dodge a long right punch.
His enemies had to wait five years for the next fall of the boxer. In his first fight against Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs), Fury was knocked down twice. In the ninth round, the American "poured it on" his opponent, pinning him in the corner, and in the 12th three minutes, Tyson made an epic save after a powerful hit to the chin.
In the third fight against Wilder, the British champion was on the canvas twice again. In the fourth round, he first missed a powerful right hook and then went down after a powerful attack.
In the end, in his fight against boxing debutant Francis Ngannou, Tyson slept through the Cameroonian's punch in the third round.
Thus, Tyson Fury has been knocked down seven times in his professional career, but none of his opponents has been able to build on his success and win.
