Famous Ukrainian welterweight gave a frank interview

Famous Ukrainian welterweight boxer Taras Shelestyuk (19-0-1, 13 KOs) told how he sparred with former world champion in three weight categories Vasyl Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KOs). Both boxers were at a training camp in Tysovka, preparing for the fights in Ivano-Frankivsk.

During a training fight, Taras delivered a feint to Vasyl, which impressed all the members of the boxing team.

"There we had to change in fours. However, after the first two rounds with him, we didn't change anymore. We stood for, I don't know, eight rounds, probably in a row, with him. After this sparring, he had a black eye. And everyone was surprised where Lomachenko got the bruise," Shelestyuk said on the TIKE MYSON YouTube channel.

Taras admitted that he did not pair up with Loma after the fight.

"Although I asked both him and his father many times because I was interested. In my weight class, there were no boxers as fast as Lomachenko, and he is a lefty, and I had Sapiyev in my rivals, and there were many top lefties. I was interested in training to get better. But I couldn't stand with him in pairs, I stood with other guys," Shelestyuk summarized.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Shelestyuk admitted that he became uninterested in Vasyl Lomachenko's career after the start of the full-scale invasion. Taras cannot understand the actions of Lomachenko, who has not condemned Russia in any way and has done nothing to help the Ukrainian military.

Earlier, Lomachenko did not call Russia the aggressor and said that it was difficult for him to explain the situation. In addition, the Ukrainian recalled how the war began for him.

Vasya expressed confidence that many Russians do not support the war, noting that he sees no point in appealing to the Kremlin leader, whom he called the commander-in-chief.

On February 24, a Ukrainian lightweight posted an image of a dove with two joined hands painted in the colors of the flags of Ukraine and Russia.
