Ukrainian choreographer Dmytro Dikusar, currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, explained why he used Russian when communicating with the locals in the East. The soldier also shared his views on individuals who choose not to switch to Ukrainian, emphasizing that not all military personnel are Ukrainian-speaking.

Dmytro Dikusar discussed this in an interview with UNIAN Lite. The choreographer believes that the language issue is a divisive tactic and that such disputes only benefit the enemy.

He mentioned that in his daily life, he primarily uses Ukrainian but can switch to Russian when conversing with his comrades. Dikusar recalled that during his time in eastern Ukraine, he deliberately addressed civilians in Russian.

"Because some people have the idea that everyone is a 'b*nderite' and a 'N*zis' So my personal goal was to convey that it doesn't matter, it doesn't change the situation," the celebrity explains. He aimed to show that regardless of the language he used, his objective was to combat the occupier.

Dmytro Dikusar regards the language issue as a form of sabotage. "If we are divided due to language, we will lose the country and its people," he asserts.

The choreographer noted that he is pleased when his compatriots switch to Ukrainian, but only if they do so willingly and consciously. "People fit into my categories of being a genuine person or not, without language being the sole factor," the military man explains. He believes that the enemy is intentionally trying to divide Ukrainians.
