Be prepared for new plot twists: Universal Pictures publishes first trailer for How to Train Your Dragon live action
The live action of the popular animated film How to Train Your Dragon by DreamWorks Animation, released in 2010, will see the light of day already this year. And fans of the touching story can finally enjoy the first full trailer.
The two-and-a-half minute long video was published on the official YouTube channel of Universal Pictures, which is producing the film. It introduces the viewer to the world they will see this summer.
Mason Thames will play the lead role of the young Viking nicknamed Hiccup, and Nico Parker will play his girlfriend Astrid. The main guest star of the cast will be Gerard Butler, who will embody the Viking leader and Hiccup's father, Stoick the Vast. He previously voiced this animated character.
The plot of the movie will follow the story of the original. Among the harsh inhabitants of the island of Berk, who have been destroying dragons for centuries, there is a young boy who decides not to fight with fantastic creatures. He finds a baby dragon of the Night Fury species, names it Toothless, and begins to train it. This marks the beginning of a completely new chapter in the life of his people.
The film's VFX artists, who worked on the special effects, have accurately recreated the appearance of Toothless and other dragons that appear in the original cartoon. Meanwhile, the film's director, Dean DeBlois, promises the audience a slightly expanded story and new plot twists.
How to Train Your Dragon will be released in Ukrainian cinemas on June 12. The world premiere is scheduled for June 13.
