Gerard Butler

On November 13, 1969, Gerard Butler was born in Glasgow. Soon his family moved to Montreal, where Gerard's father tried to open his own business. However, his venture failed, which he began to blame his wife. Soon followed a divorce, and Margaret Butler (maiden name - Hunton) returned to his native Scottish town of Paisley, where he soon married again. It was in this town that Gerard grew up.

Since childhood, Butler loved movies - constantly went to the movie theater with his mother. Soon he became interested in the stage - he began to play in the Scottish Youth Theater, and then got a role in the Royal Theater of Glasgow. At the same time, Gerard, unlike many actors, studied well, which is very pleased with his mother, who insisted that the son received a good profession.

After school Butler at the request of his mother went to college, the law school, which graduated c brilliant results. But soon after graduation, he went to Los Angeles - and not at all in order to conduct legal practice.

True, a year and a half in the city of angels did not bring anything Gerard - if you do not count the position of an extra in "Bodyguard". Soon he learned that his father in Canada dying of cancer. Butler immediately went there. And having buried his father, came back to Scotland.

He decided to work by profession - returned to the legal field. At first he was doing well, but then he got bored and became depressed. They say that at that period comes to problems with alcohol. After some time Gerard was fired from work - but by that time he decided that he would not give up the desire to become an actor and went to London.
