Estonian decathlete Karel Tilga has become a social media star after his performance at the 2024 Olympics. The 26-year-old native of Tartu failed in the pole vault, provoking jokes on the Internet.
When it was Tilgh's turn, he failed to choose the right angle. The athlete took off, but then, instead of flying over the bar, he "hung" on the pole. After hanging for a while, the Estonian fell in the other direction - onto the treadmill.
As a result, Karel took 11th place out of 20 athletes in the overall decathlon standings. Ukraine was not represented in this discipline
At the last Olympics, Karel Tilga scored 0 points in the pole vault and finished in 20th place. He did not finish at the 2022 European Championships, also receiving 0 points in the pole vault. At the same time, Karel is the 2021 NCAA champion in the decathlon.
