The American technology corporation Apple has been producing video content on its own streaming service Apple TV+ for 5 years. However, the Cupertino-based tech giant has not yet released its own TV set for it, although it produces a variety of gadgets.

However, as Macrumors writes, citing Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, this issue has reappeared on the corporation's agenda. In his Power On newsletter, Gurman briefly mentioned that Apple is "evaluating" "the idea of an Apple-branded TV."

According to the journalist, the TV could be part of a line of smart home devices that the company is developing. A wall hub for the smart home is expected to be released next year. If it proves to be successful, Apple plans to expand its expansion in this market, which remains unconquered for it.

However, according to reports, the development of the Apple TV is currently at a very early stage. Therefore, it is likely that it will take years before the project is realized. Nevertheless, this revives the prospect of Apple competing in the TV industry in a more direct way. Currently, the company sells only the Apple TV set-top box, which broadcasts content from the company's streaming service.

Since there is already significant competition in the smart TV market, Apple can offer deeper integration of its device with its own ecosystem. The company also expects premium design from its TVs.

Before his death in 2011, Steve Jobs told his biographer Walter Isaacson that he planned to reinvent the TV. He added that it would have "the simplest user interface you can imagine." However, in 2010, Apple's then COO and now CEO Tim Cook said that the company "has no interest in being in the TV market." However, a lot could have changed since then.
