"Adequate": Russian boxer admits why he won't fight Usyk
Russian boxer Dmitry Kudryashov (29-6, 28 KOs) has admitted that he will not challenge Ukrainian super champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs). According to the 39-year-old native of Volgodonsk, a potential fight against our compatriot would be like meeting a wall for him.
Kudryashov said this in an interview with mma.metaratings.ru, commenting on the Ukrainian's victory over Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) in a rematch. The heavyweight representative emphasized that Usyk deservedly defeated the British boxer, who did not impress with his actions at all.
"I didn't see any desire to win from Fury. He stood there and drove Usyk away with his jab. Now I don't see who can compete with Usyk. To address Oleksandr and say that I am the only one who can beat him? Well, this is the same as if I were to go up to the wall and start talking. I am an adequate person first, and then a boxer," Kudryashov said.
As a reminder, Usyk vs. Fury 2 ended with the Ukrainian boxer winning a unanimous decision with a score of 116-112 three times. In addition, it became known what result was recorded by artificial intelligence. This angered Tyson, who called himself the strongest with a difference of at least three rounds. After the fight, he was "disqualified."
Former champion Anthony Joshua gave his version of the rounds. And the legendary Lennox Lewis admitted that he was not impressed by the fight.
In addition, promoter Eddie Hearn disputed the score of the rematch between Usyk and Fury. Meanwhile, the British media learned what Tyson was told before the 12th round of the fight.
At the same time, impressive statistics of the opponents' punches in the fight were published. And the photo showed what Fury's face looked like after 100 missed punches from Usyk.
After the victory, the Ukrainian boxer decided on his next opponent and also made a confession about the rematch with Tyson.
Paris Fury's reaction was also caught on camera when Oleksandr was announced as the winner of the rematch with Tyson. In addition, the fight was featured in a famous cartoon. And in Russia, fake words of the British about Volodymyr Zelenskyy began to spread. The Ukrainian was suspended from boxing.
