A secret message found in the opening credits of Harry Potter movies
The first part of the film about the "Boy Who Survived," Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was released in November 2001. More than 22 years later, viewers from all over the world are still watching the films of the iconic franchise, finding more and more secret messages or hidden references in them. This time, Potter fans paid special attention to the opening credits.
It is impossible to miss how the iconic Warner Bros. logo, which is shown to us at the beginning of the film, becomes darker and darker with each subsequent part, until in the last film it changes to a menacing inky black. The symbolism of these visual changes has been discussed online.
The changes reflect the tone of the story with each new chapter. The first, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, is a classic for family viewing. We are offered to watch a good fairy tale about a little wizard who goes to Hogwarts: he finds real friends there, gets into dangerous adventures, studies and skips classes.
And this story is certainly far from the creepy and sometimes downright horrific final films, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, parts one and two.
In the opening credits of the latest movie, even the metal Warner Bros. logo is covered with rust, and the material begins to peel off. With each movie, the main antagonist of the franchise, the dark wizard Lord Voldemort, became stronger and the wizarding world became more dangerous. At the same time, the fate of Daniel Radcliffe's character, like all the other characters, was under increasing threat.
Viewers still can't get rid of the idea that for young Potter fans, it somehow reflected how life gets more serious with the onset of adulthood. It's not for nothing that the franchise's fans say they grew up with their favorite students at Hogwarts, and the opening credits literally visualized this process.
"It's like my life. The first years are the best, but the older I get, the darker life gets," commented one of the netizens, reflecting on the message in the film's credits.
As a reminder, Daniel Radcliffe has become the executive producer of a documentary about his former stunt double. The story will tell how the stuntman was left paralyzed after a serious spinal injury on the set of Harry Potter. The film is symbolically titled "David Holmes: The Boy Who Survived".
In the first trailer for the movie about David Holmes, actor Daniel Radcliffe could not hold back his tears. Read about it here.
