The athlete could not get to the stadium

Three-time Olympic athletics champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was involved in a high-profile scandal at the Paris Olympics. The 37-year-old legendary sprinter from Jamaica was unable to get to the Stade de France and compete in the 100-meter dash.

Officials banned the titled athlete from entering the arena, as the new rule requires all athletes to arrive at the stadium on a team bus. Jamaica arrived by private transportation.

After an hour of scandalous clarification, Fraser-Pryce was finally allowed into the stadium, but there was no time for a warm-up. Fearing a serious injury and repeating the story of Usain Bolt, the champion refused to take part in the 100-meter race.

In 2017, due to a poor warm-up, Bolt suffered a serious injury and had to end his career.

Fraser-Pryce has previously stated that the Paris Olympics will be her last Olympic performance.

The legendary sprinter Michael Johnson had previously written on social media that her legacy was already secured.

"The legacy is safe! Another medal tonight will only add to it. Not winning a medal tonight will have no effect," the 4-time Olympic champion wrote on social media site X.

Fraser-Pryce has been on the podium at the last four Olympics, winning Beijing 2008 and London 2012 in the 100 meters, and winning gold in Tokyo 2020 in the 4x100 meter relay.

In 2019, she made history by becoming the oldest woman to win the 100m world title in Doha, demonstrating fantastic speed and skill at the age of 35.

This incredible achievement was further emphasized when she successfully defended her title in Eugene in 2022, impressively winning the championship 14 years after her first Olympic gold medal victory.
