Usyk refused to fight Fury on April 29: who is the next opponent of the Ukrainian champion
The team of Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) refused to hold a fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion with British Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) on 29 April. Now our compatriot intends to fight one of the mandatory contenders for his titles.
The Ukrainian unified champion is expected to return to the ring in the first half of summer. Famous American journalist Steve Kim wrote about this on his Twitter page, citing a conversation with Usyk's manager Egis Klimas.
"I just spoke to Aegis Klimas. He said that Usyk's team cancels the fight with Fury on April 29 and will now honour their commitments. Klimas: "No matter how much Usyk compromised, he was pushed to do more." They hope to return to the ring in June/July," Kim said.
Earlier, the World Boxing Association (WBA) issued an ultimatum to Usik and Fury and named Briton Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) a mandatory challenger for the Ukrainian's championship belt.
Prior to that, Egis Klimas had spoken harshly about Fury because he was delaying negotiations. Oleksandr himself also made a statement about the fight, noting that the ball is now on Tyson's side. In turn, the British coach Sugar Hill Stewart spoke about his ward's plan for the fight.
In addition, the network with the help of a computer game showed how the fight Usyk - Fury will end. The Ukrainian hinted at a fight against the British in social networks, after which the Russians began to massively wish our boxer a defeat.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, a former rival of Ukrainian Tony Bellew said who would win the fight Usyk - Fury, and explained why. Also, a famous Hasim Rahman gave his forecast for the fight.
