Ukraine launches mass production of ammunition for UAVs
With the expansion of drone production in Ukraine, the need for ammunition for drones has increased. Therefore, the government has launched a mass production of ammunition for UAVs.
This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov. He clarified that a new government decree at the state level defines the procedure for the production, purchase and supply of ammunition for UAVs.
As a result, private companies in Ukraine will be able to legally produce ammunition for drones. Ukrainian soldiers are expected to receive high-quality and innovative solutions. In addition, this decision will help to scale up the production of technological goods in Ukraine.
"Today, our soldiers often use homemade designs to equip drones with grenades, mines and other non-specialised ammunition. This is not always reliable and effective. Now the situation will change," Fedorov concluded.
Back in March, Ukraine raised the share of profit for foreign components in the production of drones to 25%. This made it possible to attract more companies to produce UAVs in the country, i.e. to launch mass production of drones.
The fact is that one of the formulas for calculating the purchase price of a UAV is as follows: production costs + percentage of profit. Previously, the profit margin for foreign components was 1%, and 30% for its own goods and services. That is, the manufacturer lost the opportunity to sell drones to the state at an adequate price if they were made from foreign components. This requirement has been changed.
Earlier, OBOZREVATEL also reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine use ultra-cheap disposable cargo drones Precision Payload Delivery System (PPDS) at the front. These UAVs are manufactured by the Australian company SYPAQ to provide logistics tasks in hard-to-reach places.
