Usyk speaks about the fight with Fury
Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) is confident that his fight with British Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) for the world heavyweight title will take place. At the same time, the Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is known, was at a loss after our compatriot agreed to a disadvantageous distribution of the fee for the disrupted fight on 29 April.
Usyk said this in an interview with the Kyiv Cake YouTube channel. At the same time, he stressed that he was very happy to be in his home country, although he would have preferred to complete preparations for the fight against the World Boxing Council (WBC) championship belt holder.
"I think the fight against Tyson Fury will take place. Just not on April 29, as planned. I worked hard in the camp. Of course, I would like to be in the camp now. But I'm very happy to be home. I agreed to his terms. Because the question is not about money, but about the fight itself, about the title of absolute world champion. He didn't think I would agree to 30% of the fee. He's an unpredictable guy. He's a crazy man. He could not even think that I would agree to all his conditions," Usyk said.
