Russians are afraid to go to Crimea: the occupiers admitted the failure of the tourist season and predict a crisis for another three years

Russians admitted that the holiday season in the occupied Crimea failed

As much as Russian propagandists would like to boast about the success of the tourism industry in the temporarily occupied Crimea, the truth is nowhere to be found. In 2023, Russian media and experts had to admit that the season was a failure.

First of all, this is due to the fact that Russians got scared and decided to vacation at resorts where there are no occupiers' military bases and weapons depots nearby. According to Oleksiy Volkov, the president and collaborator of the National Union of Hospitality Industry, the losses of the season amounted to about 30% compared to last year.

The pathetic propagandists, trying to somehow justify their criminal government, pretended that working in the conditions of demilitarization of the region is "a new experience" for Crimea. Russian media also see advantages in the logistical problems caused by the closure of the Crimean bridge, as hoteliers have learned to work under stress.

This year, the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation received more than half of all vacationers, and there was nowhere to stand in the touristy Anapa, propagandists admitted. There was no such rush in Crimea and it is not expected for the next 3 years.

"Problems with transportation logistics forced many people to postpone their trip to the peninsula until better times. And according to experts, these times will come in 2025-26," Russia admitted.

Russians cite "increased threat" on the peninsula as the reason for the failure, but avoid warning. While the Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk calls on Ukrainians to leave Crimea and wait for de-occupation, the "caring" Russian authorities praise the peninsula and urge them to rest there without fear.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that Russian civilians were also urged to get out of Crimea. Ukraine has warned that if the Crimean bridge falls, the land route from Russia to the peninsula will be cut off and fighting will begin, which will be difficult to do.
