The coach of Veronika Kudermetova, the 11th ranked player in the world, openly supports the war in Ukraine, but has not been punished for his statements by the leadership of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). In conversations with his colleagues, the Russian's coach admired dictator Vladimir Putin and spoke arrogantly about Europeans.

The coach of Ukrainian Lesya Tsurenko, Mykyta Vlasov, told tribuna.by about this in an interview. He noted that last spring, all the athletes from our country realised that the WTA management did not intend to remove Z-patriots from their tournaments.

"We probably stopped expecting anything positive from the WTA almost immediately, back in April. The coach of Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetov, in conversations with other coaches from different countries, directly stated that Putin was a great man and that the whole of Europe must be on its knees. Both Russia and Putin - "the best politician of the 21st century" - are doing everything right. No one made any comments about this, everyone was happy with everything. And then we realised that with this attitude, it was pointless to expect any help for Ukrainian women," - Vlasov said.

As previously reported, Lesya Tsurenko refused to take the court against Orysia Sobolenko, a fan of the Lukashenko regime, after telling about a shocking conversation with the head of the WTA. After that, Russian former tennis player Andriy Chesnokov called for the disqualification of Ukrainian athletes.
