Fury and Usyk are to fight in the spring
British boxer Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) have yet to agree on a fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion. Negotiations between the boxers' teams have reached a critical point, with only two days left to sign an agreement for the historic fight.
The British tabloid Daily Star has this information. It informs that discussions about organising the show at the legendary Wembley Stadium in London on April 29 have reached a deadlock. The final news on the fate of the Usyk-Fury fight is expected within the next 48 hours.
If the Ukrainian fails to agree on a unification fight, he will have to make one of the mandatory defences of his belts. Earlier, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) named Croatian Filip Hrgovic (14-0, 12 KOs) as a contender for Usyk's title, and the World Boxing Association (WBA) made a similar statement regarding British Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs).
The day before, a computer game showed how the Usyk-Fury fight would end online. The Ukrainian hinted at a fight against the Briton on social media, after which Russians began to wish our boxer defeat.
