Successful dumpling dough, which does not fall apart: made with kefir

Varenyky is a delicious Ukrainian dish. It can be made with any salty and sweet filling. The most important thing is to make a successful dough that will not fall apart or stick together during cooking.

Food blogger Olesya with the nickname olesja_z_volyni on her Instagram page shared a recipe for a successful dough for dumplings, which is prepared with kefir.

Ingredients:

  • flour - 400 g
  • soda - 0,5 tsp.
  • salt - 0.5 tsp.
  • kefir - 250 ml
  • eggs - 1 pc

Method of preparation:

1. First, sift the flour into a bowl, add the baking soda and salt. Mix everything thoroughly.

2. Heat the kefir until warm and add the egg. Stir until smooth.

3. Mix the dry and liquid ingredients. Knead into an elastic dough. When ready, cover with a towel and leave to rest for 15 minutes.

4. Then you can make dumplings from the prepared dough, any sweet and salty filling is suitable.

5. Boil the dumplings for 3 minutes, or steam them for 5-6 minutes. Done!
