If you have only potatoes and minced meat: what to cook for the whole family
Potato casserole is a delicious, quick-to-prepare potato dish that will be a great option for a hearty lunch or dinner for the whole family. It can be supplemented with minced meat or any other meat, and cheese can be added to give the dish a special spice.
Food blogger Tetiana Sheremet (tania_sheremet_) shared a recipe for potato casserole with minced meat and cheese on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- potatoes – 4-5 pcs.
- minced meat (pork and beef) – 500 g
- onion – 1 pc
- carrots – 1 pc
- tomato sauce – 5-6 tbsp
- cheese – 150 g
- mayonnaise – 2 tbsp
- sugar – 1 tsp.
- paprika – 0.5 tsp.
- dry garlic – 0.5 tsp.
- oregano – 0.5 tsp.
- salt and pepper
- oil (for frying)
Method of preparation:
1. Peel and boil the potatoes until tender.
2. Meanwhile, chop the onion and grate the carrots. Fry in a frying pan with sugar.
3. Add the minced meat and spices. Mash with a spatula.
4. After 10 minutes, add the tomato sauce and simmer until the liquid evaporates.
5. Cut the potatoes into rings, and put them in a baking dish. Add salt and 50 ml of hot water.
6. Brush with mayonnaise, put the minced meat, and sprinkle with cheese.
7. Bake at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.
