"Zelensky, why are you not wearing a suit?" An American blogger responded to a joke in the Oval Office
On February 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump held rather tense talks, during which reporter Brian Glenn decided to poke fun at the Ukrainian guarantor. The journalist reproached the leader of our country for not wearing a business suit to the meeting, which allegedly showed his disrespect. The American blogger Keith Edwards responded to the media outlet's reproach, noting that such a "joke" in the Oval Office was inappropriate, as Zelensky's outfit has a certain symbolism.
He wrote about this on his Instagram page. According to the Internet personality, the Ukrainian president's clothes serve as an indicator that, unfortunately, terrible events are happening in his country.
"Zelensky didn't wear a suit because he is lazy or doesn't care about who he is meeting with. This is not a sign of disrespect. To some extent, he is doing this as an act of protest. On the other hand, he does it to let the world know that when he holds meetings on the international stage, like in the Oval Office, and wears a suit, it indicates that everything is fine for him in his country. But this is not the case. Everything has been wrong for a long time," the blogger said.
In addition, Keith Edwards noted that he was outraged by the behavior of US Vice President J.D. Vance at the White House talks. According to the Internet activist, he sincerely does not understand why the politician reproached Volodymyr Zelensky for allegedly not being grateful to American statesmen for their support. The blogger noted that such statements are absolute nonsense, as the leader of Ukraine has repeatedly expressed his gratitude.
"In addition, J.D. Vance said to Zelensky: "You have never been grateful to us." First of all, this is a lie. Zelensky thanked America many times. Secondly, I don't know why Zelensky should thank Vance, because he did not vote for financial support for Ukraine. He was against it," Edwards summarized.
As a reminder, during the talks at the White House, reporter Brian Glenn asked the Ukrainian president a question: "Why don't you wear a suit? You are visiting the headquarters of this country and you refuse to wear a suit. I just want to check if you have a suit. Many Americans are outraged that you don't respect the dignity of the US presidential administration."
It turned out that this journalist is a representative of the pro-Trump network Real America's Voice. Among his "achievements" is a relationship with Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green, who spread pro-Kremlin narratives about "biolabs in Ukraine" and accused our country of "Nazism" and "torture of civilians."
Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that world stars supported Zelensky after tense negotiations in the White House.
