Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk, who will take part in a boxing rematch with British boxer Tyson Fury on December 21, is raising four children with his wife Kateryna, who is surrounded by love and care. The couple has been together for about 20 years and have gone through the trials of fame, parting with Crimea and raising their children.
Their eldest daughter Yelyzaveta was born in 2010, followed by sons Kyrylo (born in 2013) and Mykhailo (born in 2015), and their youngest daughter Mariia born in January 2024. OBOZ.UA collected details of the relationship between Oleksandr and Kateryna Usyk and what their children look like.
The boxer's sons are actively involved in sports, in particular judo, and have already achieved success by winning gold medals in competitions.
Oleksandr Usyk's wife often shares photos of her family on social media, showing warm relationships and happy moments with her children. In particular, she posted pictures on Instagram with her youngest daughter Mariia, who is not yet a year old.
Oleksandr and Kateryna Usyk have been married since 2009 and have been raising their children together, enveloping them in support and love, which is reflected in their joint photos and the children's achievements. However, it was while studying at school that the boxer met his future wife, who had been dancing for a long time before marriage.
"When young guys my age were out and about enjoying the warm summer, I was dying in the gym. I didn't hang out with girls, I didn't get high. I was friends with a girl named Kateryna. I dreamed that she would be my wife and we would have many children. And so it happened," Oleksandr admitted.
After 15 years of marriage and a long relationship, the couple was on the verge of breaking up. The boxer almost lost his beloved because of the "star disease" in 2006. He was 19 years old at the time, he had just become a bronze medalist at the European Senior Championships, an international master of sports, and he was given a raise and a bonus. Oleksandr Usyk recalled this period as follows: "Of course, I thought I was very cool! I think we even had a fight with my current wife once and broke up."
