In the life of Ukraine's first lady, Olena Zelenska, there is a person she calls "the best" and considers one of her closest friends. It is the friend of the Ukrainian president's wife. They have been friends for over 18 years.

As you can tell from the first lady's words, this friendship is very strong and does not break despite the current terrible realities, but instead only grows stronger and stronger. Zelenska spoke frankly about her close friend to Dmytro Komarov in an interview for his project "The World Inside Out".

The guarantor's wife noted that having friends is a great value for her. The first lady has known her friend Iryna for half her life, so this friendship has been tested by time.

"Life is impossible without friends. For example, I have known my friend Iryna since I was 18. I am 46 now. We have been together most of our lives. And I have never doubted that she is the best person in my life. And it's really cool to have friends," Zelenska said.

We can assume that Elena Vladimirovna was talking about the wife of the Ukrainian comedian, former actor of the Kvartal 95 studio Oleksandr Pikalov. Zelenska has indeed been friends with Iryna Pikalova for many years, as she once told us on her personal Instagram page, showing archival photos.

"Research on happiness has proven that friendship and sincere relationships are the most important things for a person. It's hard to disagree with this... Do you have any friends you've known since childhood or youth and go through life together? I am very lucky to have such a friend! Ira, I'm proud of our amazing friendship," the first lady addressed Pikalova in 2019.

As OBOZ.UA wrote, in the same interview, Zelenska admitted that as a child she dreamed of flying airplanes and working as a flight attendant. She romanticized this profession, but over time, she failed to realize her goal, so the future screenwriter had to go to study at Kryvyi Rih National University to become an architect.
