The royal family has declassified what a private Christmas dinner looks like behind the closed doors of the palace

What does the royals' private Christmas dinner look like behind the closed doors of the palace?

Every year, members of the British royal family gather at a private estate to celebrate one of the most important winter holidays, Christmas. However, even on this day, Their Highnesses follow special rules and traditions.

Mike Tindall, Princess Anne's son-in-law, disclosed that the monarchs pay special attention to a private dinner that takes place behind closed doors a few days before Christmas. According to him, a large number of royals gather in one room, but they do not sit at the same table, the Express writes.

The former English rugby player married Queen Elizabeth II's eldest granddaughter, Zara Phillips (Tindall), in 2011, and since then he has spent almost every Christmas with the royal family. He noted that one of the interesting features of the celebration is that during lunch, adult members of the British royal family sit separately from the children.

For example, once there were about 70 guests in the palace. They were all in one large room at ten different tables, but there was not a single young royal person nearby. As Mike Tindall noted, the Windsor children enjoy their meals in a separate room.

This year, Charles III organized a Christmas dinner at Buckingham Palace on December 19. Among the guests were: His Highness and his wife Camilla, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the King's brother Andrew, his wife Sarah Ferguson, and their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Lord Frederick Windsor and his family, and other monarchs. It is noted that lunch at Buckingham Palace is often organized for Their Highnesses, who will not attend the official celebration in Sandringham.
