Russian director and playwright Ivan Vyrypaev, who has been living in Poland for several years, said that he truly admires Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He also emphasized that every artist should take an example from a politician.
The Russian shared his thoughts in an interview with a Russian TV channel. Vyrypaev called the Ukrainian president the person who impressed him the most this year.
The director admitted that he did not expect this at all. He recalled how Zelensky appeared on the Goluboy Ogonyok show back in 2013, which made Ivan snobbish.
And now the playwright is wondering what he would do in the shoes of the former comedian. "I would probably run away, made the opposite move. But he stayed. This is a lesson for me and for all artists in general," Vyrypaev said.
The artist is delighted that Zelensky has taken responsibility. "He's a real war manager, he's doing it very well and he's trying to do it. That's my admiration," the Russian added.
