It's probably no secret that the former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, has a warm relationship with his wife Olena, who has been married to him for over 20 years. Many Ukrainians are touched by the romantic nature of the "iron man", and a new selfie with his beloved is proof of this.

In the latest photo, which has more than 43 thousand likes on Facebook, the couple looks happy. The retired general's subscribers pelted him with compliments in the comments. Therefore, OBOZ.UA decided to recall other photos of the Zaluzhnyis family, which show that true love is timeless.

As the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine previously wrote, his wife is the closest person to him. So, on her birthday, Zaluzhnyi wrote a post where he talked about his crazy love, which has already withstood more than 20 years of marriage.

"I can't imagine how much patience, courage, and wisdom it takes to be there for me. Even when I didn't believe in myself, you believed in me and supported me. All I have and all I have achieved is you. Thank you for the air, for the heartbeat, and for the dreams that come true. Happy birthday, my love," he wrote.

Not much is known about the "iron general's" chosen one. Before the full-scale war of the Russian Federation, she worked as a financier in a bank, but there is no information on whether she kept her job. Olena and her husband used to go on hiking trips around Ukraine.

The couple is raising two children: Khrystyna and Arina. The older one is a soldier in the Kyiv garrison, and the younger one plans to become a doctor and is studying in Odesa at a medical institute.
