"I have a legal way": Potap tells how he left Ukraine for the first time and what "fatherly" advice he received from Zaluzhnyi

Ukrainian producer and rapper Potap (Oleksii Potapenko), who is currently building a career in Europe under the pseudonym Slavik Balagan, has told for the first time how he was able to leave his homeland during the full-scale invasion. According to the 43-year-old artist, he went abroad legally, and sometimes returns to Ukraine to help the military and volunteers.

He spoke about this during an interview with Yurii Dud. According to the performer, after the start of the great war, he even had a conversation with Valerii Zaluzhnyi, who gave him a "fatherly" instruction to help the defenders as much as he could.

"I am constantly entering and leaving Ukraine. I have a legal way. All my work abroad, all my money goes to help the army and volunteers. Now I have only charity as my activity in Ukraine, and the rest of my work is abroad," the rapper explained.

According to Potap, he can freely cross the border of his homeland, as he has official permission from the necessary organizations. According to the producer, during the full-scale war, he left Ukraine many times for various reasons, but from time to time he returns to the country, as this is one of the conditions of the contract.

"There are systems, methods, and programs provided by various authorities where you can get official permission to leave. It is not easy, you have to go through the bureaucratic part. During this time, I left for different reasons with the help of different authorities. But the permit means that I have to come back. I leave for a certain period of time and return," the artist said.

In addition, according to Potap, he constantly supports defenders, volunteers, and medical organizations, and has even spoken to the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, about this. The producer said: "He came up to me, shook my hand like a father and said: "Help the frontline. Your task is to help in any way you can. I do this through my profession. I can do this. I know how to make money abroad and will continue to do so."
