"He did not discuss this with me." Zelenska reacts for the first time to her husband's promise to resign from the presidency in exchange for peace for Ukraine
For the first time, First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska has commented on her husband, President Volodymyr Zelensky's words about his readiness to resign from the presidency in exchange for peace in our country. According to the public figure, although the president has not spoken to her about this topic, she is convinced that he does not plan to hold his position for the rest of his life, but will be ready to take this step for the sake of the security of his homeland.
She said this in an interview with the Italian political and news talk show Quarta Repubblica. The First Lady posted a video of the conversation with the journalist on her official Telegram channel.
"He did not discuss this with me. As far as I understand, these were his words during a press conference he gave to journalists. I know that he does not plan to be president for the rest of his life. The main task he has set for himself is to make Ukraine safe. Security guarantees, whatever they may be, must be in place in Ukraine so that he can leave office in peace. If NATO membership is a security guarantee, I think he can do it. Why not?" said Olena Zelenska.
