Arnold Schwarzenegger for the first time names the incurable diagnosis he has suffered from since childhood
The legendary American actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has named the incurable disease he has suffered from since childhood. The actor admitted that he reads and writes poorly due to dyslexia, a neurobiological disorder that occurs because the brain processes information differently.
Because of this, the actor suffered at school, and later had difficulty reading scripts. The actor first spoke about his illness on his Instagram (scroll to the bottom of the page to see the photo).
"Here's my secret: I'm a terrible reader. In the 1950s in Austria, they didn't talk about learning disabilities, so most of the time when I was asked to read aloud in class, it was a disaster and I was beaten with a ruler. But now I know that I have dyslexia," said Arnold Schwarzenegger.
He said that when preparing for a film, he reads the script for months until he has it memorised. Only repeated repetition allows the star to commit his lines to memory.
The actor made his confession on the occasion of the completion of the recording of his own audiobook, Be Useful. The process was not easy for the celebrity. While other authors record their books in 2-3 days in the studio, Schwarzenegger had to do it at home at a much slower pace.
He wrote down 20-30 pages a day and used life hacks that helped him not to give up.
"I would let myself be afraid and complain for a minute, but then I would force myself to move on because denial would not help me write it down. I repeated so many things that I can't even count them. I broke it down into pieces, knowing that small victories add up to big ones. My team helped me," the actor said.
The book will be available on platforms on 10 October.
Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that Arnold Schwarzenegger is now the director of action at the streaming platform and film studio Netflix. He introduced his new position by posting a video with a tank.
