Alec Baldwin screamed and swore, he did not control his emotions: prosecutors announced new details of the filming of "Rust"

Prosecutors in New Mexico, USA, claim that the famous Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin killed Ukrainian cameraman Halyna Hutchins during the filming of the scandalous movie Rust in 2021 due to loss of control over his emotions and chaos on the set.

In a public statement to People, they said that the killer was "inattentive" while handling a firearm and "often yelled and swore." At the time, the revolver was loaded, and the actor himself claimed that he did not pull the trigger, but only waved the prop.

"To observe Mr. Baldwin's behavior on the set of Rust means to witness a person who has absolutely no control over his own emotions and is completely unconcerned about how his behavior affects others. Witnesses indicate that this behavior contributed to the safety of the set," said prosecutors Kari T. Morrissey and Jason J. Lewis.

In March 2024, Alec Baldwin's legal team tried to file a motion to dismiss the charges for alleged involuntary manslaughter. During the trial, the gunman, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, was also found guilty, having handed the actor a loaded revolver during a rehearsal. The defendant faces 18 months in prison, and Baldwin himself decided to take advantage of this by blaming her.

Prosecutors note that each reenactment of the murder contradicted the previous one. In particular, they "endured almost countless lies and manipulations by the defense" and were "subjected to the defendant's far-fetched and unfounded personal attacks."

Baldwin is currently assembling a list of celebrities to speak in his defense. It is expected to include his co-star in the movie Rust, Francis Fisher, as well as Mickey Rourke, Debra Messing and D.J. Qualls. They will allegedly argue in court that the actor had nothing to do with the prop, so it would be incorrect to blame Baldwin for the shot.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, cameraman Halyna Hutchins was killed on the set of the movie Rust on October 21, 2021. Baldwin was preparing for a scene in which he was supposed to point a revolver at the camera and shoot, but the weapon turned out to be loaded and the bullet hit the Ukrainian woman. Hutchins died after suffering a perforating wound to the chest. In particular, the bullet hit the director Joel Seuss, who was standing behind her. The man was wounded but survived.
