Alec Baldwin
Alec Baldwin is an American actor, comedian and writer.
A brief biography
Baldwin was born April 3, 1958 in Massapequa, New York, the son of a teacher and a high school soccer coach. He has Irish, English, French, Scottish and German roots.
The oldest and most famous of the four Baldwin brothers in the acting business (the others are Stephen, William and Daniel).
He has two degrees, in political science and dramatic arts. Prior to working in television, managed to work as a waiter in New York.
He burst onto the television scene in the early 1980s and since then has actively pursued a career, starring both for TV and the big screen. His track record includes work in over 80 films.
In 1995 he was included in the list of "100 Sexiest Stars" by Empire magazine.
Problems with the law
Arrest in 2014 - for disorderly conduct (actor rode his bike the wrong way down a one-way street);
Trial in 2018 - on misdemeanor charges of third-degree attempted assault and second-degree harassment. The incidents occurred during an on-street conflict over parking;
scandal in 2019 - Baldwin pleaded guilty to harassment and agreed to attend a one-day anger management course.
Accidental murder of Galina Gutchins on set
In October 2021, on the set of the western Rust, Baldwin accidentally shot and killed Ukrainian-born cameraman Galina Gatchins and wounded director Joel Sousa.
The gun the actor accidentally fired was loaded with real bullets instead of blanks.
Family
From 1993 to 2002, he was married to actress Kim Basinger. The couple has a 26-year-old daughter, Ireland.
With his second wife, Hilaria Lynn Thomas, Baldwin has six children, the two youngest born in 2020 (son Eduardo in September and daughter five months later thanks to surrogacy).
The couple married on June 30, 2012.
